First Chairman: Dr. Amal Mukhopadhyay

 

Dr. Amal Mukhopadhyay is a biochemist, researcher, and entrepreneur. He has already founded three companies in Hamburg. He benefits from his diverse connections to India and an extensive network in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence.

Since founding and leading the Hanseatic India Forum association in 2009, he has already implemented various social and economic projects in India. One of his main concerns is improving the social and economic situation of women in India.

Ehrung Dr. Amal

Dr. Amal Mukhopadhyay was awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Sanmaan by Indian President Droupadi Murmu on January 10, 2023, during the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations held in Indore from January 8 to 10.

 

The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, also known as the Non-Resident Indian Award, is a high state honor that has been awarded since 2003 to deserving members of the Indian diaspora.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman can be awarded to Indians residing outside India (Non-Resident Indians, NRIs) and to persons of Indian origin who hold another citizenship. Organizations and institutions founded or led by such individuals are also eligible for this award.


Second Chairman: Mr. Dieter Grützmacher

 

Dieter Grützmacher is also a co-initiator and co-organizer of the annual Hanseatic India Colloquium, a dialogue platform for German and Indian companies covering a range of scientific and economic topics.

 

In the political and business arena, his focus in Hamburg is particularly on foreign trade and the European Union.


Treasurer: Ms. Rinku Agarwal

 

Rinku Agarwal is a long-standing active member of the Hanseatic India Forum and is knowledgeable in financial matters. She studied economics at Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. She has been employed by a debt management company in Hamburg for six years.

An expanded board is to be made available for the coming year to support the work of the board.
